Senior Advisor

Cleto, a former business executive, has served as vice president of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Italiana, president of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers and president of the European Footwear Industry Confederation.

CURRENT ACTIVITY:
An expert in business strategy, his consulting work supports companies in strategic business development and increasing business productivity.

He advises mainly clients in the high fashion industry, benefiting from his in-depth knowledge of global markets and his extensive network of relationships with more than 2,000 distributors, 60 sales agencies and more than 350 contacts with corporate press offices.

Most recently, he was CEO of an Italian company for which he oversaw the launch of an iconic shoe brand, positioning it in more than 85 countries.

During his two consecutive terms (2015-2019) in the presidency of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC), he actively supported the European Commission in the negotiation of free trade agreements (FTAs) with South Korea, Canada, Japan, and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Through these experiences, he has developed fruitful working relationships with many EU institutions, as well as with key industrial players active in Brussels.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:
⦁ Started his activity in the family business, active in the footwear industry since 1956.
⦁ In 1993 he held the position of sales director.
⦁ In 1995 he added Marketing Management to the position.
⦁ Later he becomes General Manager.
⦁ In 2002 he is appointed Chief Executive Officer, a position he holds for 11 years. His responsibilities at the top of the company coincide with the beginning of a significant growth trend, the result of strategic choices such as quality, research and product innovation, the enhancement of human resources, and a new impulse to communication and branding.
⦁ From 2002 to 2005 Sagripanti was president of the Young Entrepreneurs of ANCI (National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers), having been a member since 1994 and vice-president from 1997 to 2001. During his tenure, he has distinguished himself by defending Made in Italy, opening collective showrooms abroad, promoting initiatives to raise awareness of the industry in the U.S. market, conducting innovative training courses and other important activities.
⦁ Since 2003, he has been Marche Delegate to the Interregional Council of Central Italy of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confindustria.
⦁ On April 21, 2005, he was elected National Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria, with responsibility for Education and external relations.
⦁ In 2007 he was a member of the ANCI Council and in 2008 he was appointed a member of the Education Confederal Technical Committee.
⦁ In 2007 he was honored by the University of Macerata with the “University Award” reserved for the most innovative entrepreneur in the Marche region.
⦁ In July 2008 he joined the BoD of the University of Macerata as an independent advisor called by the Magnifico Rettore and, also during the same period, the BoD of the MUS-e Association, a European multicultural project, chaired in Italy by entrepreneur Riccardo Garrone, founded by violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin, which aims to combat, through artistic expressions, marginalization and social hardship in preschools and elementary school.
⦁ In December 2008 he was elected President of the European Platform for New Footwear Technologies “Footwear,” the only Italian at the top of a European Platform.
⦁ On July 16, 2009, he became President of Confindustria Macerata Footwear Manufacturers and Vice President of Confindustria Macerata.
⦁ Since July 2009 he has been the Coordinator of the ANCI Innovation Committee.
⦁ From May 2010 to October 2013, he is President of Aerdorica, the company that manages the Marche’s “Raffaello Sanzio” airport.
⦁ On June 9, 2011, he was elected President of ASSOCALZATURIFICI ITALIANI (then Anci, National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers), and since September 2013 President of FIAMP (Italian Federation of Personal Fashion Accessory), a member of Confindustria.
⦁ After completing his second term as President of Assocalzaturifici, he was, from 2015 to 2019, President of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC), actively supporting the European Commission in the negotiations of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with South Korea, Canada, Japan, and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
