Bucintoro of the Third Millennium

Iezzi&Partners collaborates with some institutions for the realization of the Project “Bucintoro of the Third Millennium“.

The Bucintoro was the great “golden ship” on which the Doge celebrated every year the “Sposalizio del Mare” (Wedding of the Sea) and represented the summa of the artistic and technical-naval skills of the Serenissima Republic.

The last Bucintoro was destroyed by Napoleon in 1798.

The reconstruction of the Bucintoro, in addition to recovering a prestigious heritage that belongs to all humanity, aims to enhance all the high skills required and to revive all related craft activities. It is expected that the precious artifact will be further enriched by the use of technological solutions absolutely at the forefront, both for mechanics and materials.

It was also planned the contextual creation of a cultural and scientific center, which will be divided into:

  • Museums with innovative technologies
  • Scientific research center
  • Congress center
  • Biennial Exhibition of Crafts
